Bizou and Crush Pad Wines are now hiring full and part-time front of house waitstaff for the positions of server/bartender and host. New hires may be cross-trained between the two locations. Established in 1996, Bizou has been a standard-bearer on the Downtown Mall for over two decades. We are known for innovative, playful cuisine drawing from French and Virginia countryside traditions and a dynamic wine program focused on food-friendly selections served with warm, knowledgable hospitality in a low-pretense setting. Crush Pad is a new sister project located directly across the street from Bizou. A mixed hospitality concept, Crush Pad is equal parts fine wine shop and swanky wine bar with excellent small and sharing plates in the evening.
-Server applicants will have an upbeat attitude and a willingness to learn. Previous high-volume experience and wine knowledge is ideal, but we will train the right candidates. Wine knowledge and bar skills for those 21+ are major boons. Preferred candidates will have availability to work days, nights, and weekends. Weekday lunch availability particularly valuable!
-For the position of host, we are looking for energetic, multi-tasking wünderkinds (ages 16+) who can organize a waitlist, field telephone calls, and whip the dining room into shape during a busy service. Previous experience appreciated, but we are willing to train promising talent from the ground up. This is a tremendous, lucrative side hustle for students, with major opportunity for advancement to a serving position. Weekend availability is the priority, but opportunity to work weekday shifts as well.
