We’ve got what you’re looking for.Job Description:Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Network Engineer to join our team!The network engineer monitors and measures activity and performance of a commercial telecom/IP network within AWS. Collects, interprets, and reports network data and individual customer performance data to provide statistics for billing. Technical knowledge includes an in-depth understanding of TCP/IP and SNMP routing protocols. Must also be knowledgeable of AWS networking services such as Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPNs (IPSec), Transit Gateways (TGW), VPC Peering; Azure networking services such as ExpressRoute and Virtual Network Gateways; network management tools such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Azure Monitor; and operating systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server.What You'll Be Doing:
Demonstrates advanced subject matter expertise in cloud networking.
Contributes to and may lead the planning and implementation of large-scale hybrid networking projects.
Regularly interfaces with senior management and executive leadership on strategic planning for cloud infrastructure.
Designs highly available architectures using AWS services like Direct Connect for dedicated connections between on-premises networks to AWS.
Configures Site-to-Site VPNs for secure communication between remote networks.
Implements Transit Gateways to simplify complex network architectures by connecting VPCs across multiple regions.
Designs hybrid networks that integrate on-premises infrastructure with cloud environments in both AWS and Azure.
Utilizes Azure ExpressRoute for private connections between on-premises networks to Azure data centers.
Monitors network performance using AWS CloudWatch metrics/logging, Azure Monitor for proactive issue resolution.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
8+ years of related professional experience in network engineering with at least 3 years focused on cloud-based solutions within AWS and/or Azure.
Exhibits technical and operational proficiency in the primary duties of the job family
Advanced knowledge of general principles and practices of the functional area
Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
Advanced written and oral communications skills
Ability to troubleshoot urgent production issues
Proficient in developing software in one or more operating systems environment (Windows, Linux, etc)
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Advanced time management and organizational skills
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
An advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate) may be preferred at this level.
