Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant in Bristol, Virginia. This role involves comprehensive accounting tasks, including the preparation of journal entries, month-end close operations, and account reconciliations. You will be also expected to handle accounts payable and receivable, generate monthly statements, and manage bank deposits and collections.Responsibilities: Prepare and post journal entries as part of the accounting process Conduct month-end close procedures and balance sheet reconciliations Manage accounts payable, ensuring correct coding and timely transmission to corporate office Handle accounts receivable, including posting payments to accounts and generating monthly statements Make bank deposits and manage collections activities Research and resolve accounting discrepancies as they arise Verify timecard entries and approvals prior to payroll processing Utilize Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks Work with Sage 100 or similar accounting software. Utilize an obtained University Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field to carry out job responsibilities.For immediate consideration please contact Lisa Coker at 865-370-2084 to set up an interviewRequirements Must hold a University Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar. Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations. Strong skills in working with general ledger and managing journal entries. Experience in managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR). Proven ability in coding invoices, posting payments, and collections. Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting. Experience in conducting month-end close procedures. Knowledge and practical experience with Sage 100 accounting software. Excellent analytical skills, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work and interact with diverse stakeholders. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Professional ethics and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
