Introduction to Position:IT Technician I is an entry level IT role at Modea, usually requiring formal training in the field. This role participates in IT administration tasks of limited scope and complexity, or with close supervision of a more senior technician.The work of an IT Technician I is closely managed, making this an excellent entry point for an employee with limited experience, allowing the IT Technician I to develop their skills in a practical setting and learn on lower risk engagements.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Respond to and resolve helpdesk tickets in a timely and efficient manner, providing technical support to end-users
Assist in managing the inventory of IT equipment, software, and resources
Operate and maintain the Remote Monitoring and Management system, ensuring optimal performance of IT systems
Administer various software packages, performing updates, troubleshooting, and user onboarding/offboarding as needed
Participate in learning activities such as pairing with other developers, online video instruction, conferences, etc.
Assist in running and maintaining our internal Cisco Meraki network, including monitoring network performance and security
Manage long running projects from start to finish, such as implementing new software, converting user base from one system to another, etc.
Developing and maintaining technical documentation to guide users on a variety of IT related topics
Performs other duties as assigned that are reasonably within scope of this position.
Critical Competencies:As an IT I (ITI), youll typically complete work autonomously, with direction and support from more senior staff.The scope of work for an ITI is typically limited to a small number of tasks at a time, but will likely need to manage your time across multiple priorities.The work of an ITI is given with a heavy amount of direction, and work is generally communicated through smaller, incremental steps.An ITI is learning best practices and processes towards the goal of various IT certifications.Minimum Requirements:An Associates Degree in an IT field, or equivalent experience.Work environment:Modeans are able to work at any location in Virginia, Tennessee, or North Carolina, unless as otherwise required by job responsibilities. We offer modern offices located in Nashville, TN and Blacksburg, VA. Our office provides an indoor space with moderate temperatures and noise levels. This allows employees to choose a fully-office, fully-remote, or hybrid work experience. Employees may occasionally need to travel to our offices or other locations for items such as training or client visits. We will also provide employees with tools to do their job at home as well as in the office.Physical Demands:Must be able to remain in a stationary position during the duration of the workday. Individuals must have the ability to constantly operate a computer. Must have the ability to converse with and exchange information to clients and coworkers both in person and through a computer.
