DescriptionLeidos is seeking an engineer to work as a Scrum Master on a diverse team for an unmanned autonomous ship program. This engineer will be joining an existing team which has already successfully delivered for our customers. The successful candidate will focus on connecting with the team, and co-operating to help the team focus on making achievable commitments and meeting them together. The program uses the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to plan and execute work across several scrum teams.As a Scrum Master, they will be responsible for coaching their team, helping the team follow the Scrum process, acting as the single point of contact for their team with management and the other Scrum teams on the project, in addition to helping the team refine the backlog continuously. This Scrum Master will be an integral part of our team, collaborating to work with us to make our unmanned vessels smarter. Their team of engineers will demonstrate their work regularly for customers and management, gaining exposure and constant feedback. This position does not require writing software, but exposure to technical concepts helps in building a common understanding of an approach and communicating with stakeholders.The work done on this project will be demonstrated in the real world. Some periodic travel may be required within the continental US as part of attending meetings and assisting with testing our unmanned vessels. Our team develops and deploys advanced technology solutions that address existing and emerging maritime missions of national importance for a broad range of customers across the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, other governmental agencies and commercial clients. Current and future projects span advanced concept and prototype development, low-rate initial production and full-rate production.Primary Responsibilities

Coach the team to grow in effective Agile development

Coordinate the team’s effective refinement of the product backlog

Communicate with other Scrum masters, Release Train Engineers, program leadership, customer, and development teams to report on status, blockers, etc., and collaborate to help the team be successful

Coordinate the team in agile meetings such as daily scrum, retrospectives, and program increment planning, working to identify and resolve issues together

Basic Qualifications

Requires BS degree and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.

Experience in an Agile environment

Coaching, teaching, or other experience guiding a team

Must be able to obtain DoD SECRET security clearance- US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Object Oriented software development or modeling

SAFe Agilest Certification
