The Network Technical Manager will play a pivotal role in managing the technical and operational aspects of cloud migration to Azure, modernizing the infrastructure, and providing strategic guidance. This individual will bridge the gap between cloud requirements, network infrastructure, and teams, all while ensuring security, performance, and compliance. With over 20 years of experience in network and infrastructure management, the Technical Manager will work collaboratively across various teams to drive the modernization efforts forward.Responsibilities:
Lead technical planning and implementation of network infrastructure modernization efforts
Oversee the migration of legacy systems to cloud-based solutions
Develop and maintain network architecture documentation and transition plans
Collaborate with software development teams to ensure network requirements are met
Manage relationships with stakeholders across Department of State and technical teams
Ensure compliance with federal security requirements and best practices
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers
Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions
Create and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
Qualifications:Required:
Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
8+ years of experience in network engineering and architecture
5+ years of experience managing technical teams
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Experience with network security in government environments
CISSP, CCNP, or equivalent certifications
Desired:
Master's degree in related technical field
Experience with Department of State or similar federal agency
Knowledge of FedRAMP compliance requirements
Background in software development lifecycle processes
Previous experience leading cloud migration projects
Familiarity with DevSecOps practices
