Some telecommuting allowed.Contract requires US Citizenship and an active secret or top secret clearance.As a Junior Cyber Exercise Planner you will help support the National Cybersecurity Exercise Program (NCEP) efforts to enhance the security and resilience of the nation's critical infrastructure. This expanding program is part of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Exercises sub-division responsible for developing, designing, conducting, and analyzing cyber exercises and workshops at the state, federal, regional, private sector, and international level. The exercises range from tabletop exercises intended to identify policy and process issues under a variety of authorities, to functional exercises with public and private sectors to test command and control procedures, response mechanisms, and cross-sector coordination. This position will give you meaningful experience across a number of areas: cybersecurity, client/stakeholder communication, and critical thinking with future opportunities for project management and facilitation.HOW AN EXERCISE PLANNER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Support federal client and exercise contract leads to plan, coordinate, and execute cyber exercises according to the DHS Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) principles.

This includes identifying objectives, developing scenarios, designing exercise construct, supporting the exercise conduct, and after-action report development.

Drafts and maintain exercise life cycle documents to include those needed from early concept and planning meetings through execution and after-action reporting.

These documents include active scenarios developed to meet exercise outcomes and test cyber incident response plans.

Develops after action reports and improvement plans which incorporate recommendations and modifications to organization plans, processes, and protocols.

Aids with coordination and facilitation of requirement gathering sessions and works with business owners and government stakeholders to inform exercise design.

Researches, assesses, and analyzes customer needs and requirements across security and critical functions.

Travel required: Support exercise executions at locations around the country and potentially internationally.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required

Required Experience: 2+ years of related experience

Security Clearance Level: Secret or Top Secret clearance

Required Skills and Abilities: Expertise with Microsoft Office 365 applications; particularly Microsoft Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Excel

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Customer service orientation, focus, and ability to multitask

Ability to respond to urgent and sensitive requests for information in a timely manner with attention to detail

Proven teamwork across multiple small teams

Flexible, self-motivated, and able to adapt to changing circumstances

A basic understanding of the Cybersecurity field

Familiarity with exercise development, design, conduct, and analysis

Familiarity with Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) Methodology

Location: Arlington, VA - Hybrid

Travel required 10-25%

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
