Title:Autonomy & Artificial Intelligence Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) Senior Advisor for Collaborative AutonomyThe Autonomy and Artificial Intelligence (AAI) Modernization team in TRMC has a position open for a Senior Advisor with a strong background in test and evaluation, experimentation, and transition of multi-domain collaborative autonomy (e.g., system-of-systems). This position requires a technical understanding of the state of the art in collaborative autonomy for attritable systems, as well as a deep understanding of the policy and transition challenges for operationalizing collaborative autonomy. In this role, the Senior Advisor will help formulate and execute a T&E strategy for collaborative autonomy with the goal of experimenting with minimum viable products and transitioning to operational environments. As part of formulating a T&E strategy, this role includes but is not limited to:

Building a consensus around technology approaches, system-of-systems integration, and experimentation in collaboration with joint service and mission partners to operationalize collaborative autonomy

Proactively identifying technology, experimentation, & T&E infrastructure gaps

Identifying capabilities from S&T organizations (e.g., DARPA, ARL, AFRL) that may accelerate timelines

Work with end-user community for iterative testing and iterative training

The Senior Advisor will execute this plan while working closely with other members of the AAI Modernization Cell and other departments within TRMC. The role also requires collaboration and coordination with other organizations, to include OUSD (R&E), DIU, and other joint mission and service partners.

Basic Qualifications:

A post-secondary degree in a relevant technical discipline and associated relevant professional experience. BA/S + 10 years; MA/S + 8 years; PhD/DS + 6 years.

10+ years of experience leading, shaping, and executing DoD S&T technology strategy, either as a Government employee or contractor

Proficiency in building collaborative research and development networks across government, industry, and academia.

Knowledge of and demonstrated experience applying current and emerging technology solutions and trends including security, regulatory, & industry requirements

Demonstrated ability to innovate and think beyond established standards and processes,

Ability to communicate technical information articulately and effectively to a variety of audiences, from highly technical practitioners to non-technical senior leaders.

Ability to obtain & maintain a Top Secret clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).

Travel to regular field experimentations

Desired Qualifications:

15+ years of prior DoD leadership experience, either as a Government employee or contractor with corresponding professional network

Hands on experience planning and executing complex live, virtual, and constructive experimentation involving AI and autonomy enabled system-of-systems / collaborative autonomy

Proficiency in consulting, negotiating, communicating, consensus building, presentation, and facilitation of technical capability requirements with mission partners

Proficiency in collaborating across joint service, mission partners, and other RDT&E organizations to build consensus

Demonstrable ability to leverage and shape the DoD S&T technology enterprise to inform future investments

Active Top Secret clearance
