With a goal of becoming the most trusted name in premium proteins, we create products for consumers and for retail and foodservice customers around the globe, while changing the way animals are raised for food.SummaryThe Buyer is responsible for purchasing indirect (MRO) goods and services for multiple assigned facilities, which involves routine supplier contact and standard information exchange. Use strong technical skills and purchasing experience to provide guidance regarding purchasing processes. Control key aspects of procurement transactions including requisitions, purchase orders, order placement, tracking, and invoicing. Ensure compliance with existing purchasing contracts. Coordinate with Regional Managers regarding supplier branch issues.Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Requisitions - Receive and review requisitions from supported departments for indirect or fleet MRO parts, supplies, & services.

Supplier Management – Work with vendor base, customers, Accounts Payable and Sourcing Group to solve issues regarding transactions and invoice payment.

Purchase orders – Create purchase orders for inventoried and non-inventoried indirect or fleet items in support of all assigned cost centers. Follow-up to expedite deliveries.

E-Procurement – Facilitate e-procurement transactions within multiple assigned complexes.

Blocked invoices and backorders –Team with receivers and Accounts Payable to minimize blocked purchase orders.

Purchasing cards & ghost accounts – Control spend in assigned purchasing card & ghost accounts to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Minimum EducationHigh School Diploma (w/ additional training on E-Procurement, purchasing systems, vendor management, and MS Office).Experience RequirementsComputer software (automated purchasing systems such as Maximo, EAM, and/or SAP, MS Office, Paper-wise), scanners, printers, copiers, fax machine, multi-line telephone, and calculator. CPM or CPSM certification desirable.Experience Preferred3 to 5 Years (2 to 3 years with degree)Environmental Factors and Physical RequirementsWork 8 hours per day in climate-controlled office environment.
