Job SummaryThe Medical Value & Outcomes (MVO) – Oncology/Specialty Care/Specialty Care - Regional Payer and IDN Accounts Associate Director/Director serves as the medical scientific lead for assigned US payer/population healthcare decision makers (HCDMs) and is the medical field partner for the commercial market access/account teams representing the Sanofi Specialty Care Business Unit. This individual will have responsibilities across Specialty Care as dictated by MVO needs. This role is responsible for developing and implementing customized medical account plans to address medical needs and opportunities for scientific partnerships in alignment with approved and applicable medical strategies and tactics. A key responsibility is to facilitate scientific exchange in Oncology/Specialty Care disease state management and the clinical/economic value of Sanofi Specialty Care Oncology/Specialty Care products to help inform healthcare decision-making as a means to improve patient outcomes. Additionally, this position provides insights on key evidence gaps relevant to payer/population HCDMs and identifies opportunities for real-world evidence (RWE)/outcomes research collaborations. This role works in partnership with key internal stakeholders, including commercial market access/account director counterparts, the Oncology/Specialty Care medical units, Health Economics and Value Assessment (HEVA)RWE, and others as needed and appropriate. The Oncology/Specialty Care/Specialty Care MVO provides Oncology/Specialty Care medical population health care expertise across to the larger MVO team, the Oncology/Specialty Care Medical Science Liason Teams, as well as to other internal stakeholders in the Specialty Care Oncology/Specialty Care business units.Geography: East Region, USJob Roles and Responsibilities

Serve as Oncology/Specialty Care field medical scientific lead/plan and execute Oncology/Specialty Care medical strategy and engagement for assigned healthcare accounts and IDN organizations.

Serve as the scientific lead and medical account manager for assigned US payer/population healthcare decision makers (HCDM) representing Sanofi’s Specialty Care portfolio.Identify, develop and maintain credible scientific partnerships with key medical, pharmacy, quality & health economics/outcomes/analytics healthcare decision-makers and opinion leaders within assigned accounts and organizatons.

Lead development and execution of customized Oncology/Specialty Care medical account plans for assigned accounts in alignment with current Sanofi medical strategies and tactics and per approved policies, procedures and guidelines.

Facilitate scientific engagement to address US payer/population HCDMs evidence/educational needs around the Oncology/Specialty Care therapeutic landscape and the clinical/economic value of Sanofi Oncology/Specialty Care products to help inform healthcare decision making and improve patient outcomes; provide access to medical, health policy, and clinical/health economic information (e.g., clinical presentations, dossier, budget impact models, etc.), and to tailor information to meet the evidence needs of healthcare decision-makers, in alignment with Oncology/Specialty Care medical brand strategies and in a US compliant manner.

Collect and share customer insights and evidence gaps that help to inform and advance product portfolio development and customer engagement, including medical brand strategies, customer medical awareness needs, scientific/health outcomes communications, and outcomes/pharmacoeconomic research priorities. Assist in interpreting insights into strategy input.

Develop key medical contacts with applicable national/regional/local medical, payer, and advocacy associations related to clinical, evidence-based disease management/health outcome initiatives, aligned with overall medical brand strategy.

Develop and execute strategic medical partnerships with Oncology/Specialty Care Medical Science Liaison (MSL) colleagues.

Respond to unsolicited medical requests from cusomers for clinical and pharmacoeconomic information via compliance with applicable policies and procedures.

Provide support for Sanofi Specialty Care scientific advisory boards as applicable to an Oncology/Specialty Care brand plan.

Attend and participate as appropriate in payer, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) and scientific conferences.

Compliantly work cross-functionally with relevant internal stakeholders to coordinate engagement of and response to customers’ medical/scientific needs including alignment with additional Sanofi resources (e.g., medical directors, clinical development, HEVA, or other functions).

Provide input to the Medical Value & Outcomes team for the development and delivery of field tools, resources, materials and training (e.g. product dossier, economic models, slide kits, articles, review summaries etc.). Provide support and lead the development and delivery, including associated budget management.

Participate in internal cross-functional teams to provide input on evidence needs, educational opportunities, and resources. Participate in publication plans, therapeutic area strategies and tactics planning

Serve as mentor for new Medical Value and Outcomes personnel as well as post-PharmD Fellows and students on assignment.

Facilitate the development and placement of appropriate clinical/health outcomes and population health management studies with appropriate field and home office collaboration and support that is consistent with all applicable policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Contribute to the organization and submission of outcomes research project data for presentation at scientific congresses and authorship in scientific publications.

In alignment with Oncology/Specialty Care training needs, provide internal training and share expertise on scientific, health policy, and HEOR data to appropriate stakeholders.

Provide strategic input to leadership teams as appropriate.

K nowledge, Skills, and Equivalent Experience

Advanced understanding and knowledge of current US healthcare system, healthcare delivery, and biotechnology drug/device development process required.

Knowledge of HEOR disciplines, and basic understanding of biostatistics and evidence-based medicine required (i.e. research methodology, developing clinical protocols, clinical reports, etc.).

Clinical practice or pharmaceutical industry experience in Oncology/Specialty Care.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills required.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and work effectively in a constantly changing environment in both an independent and collaborative manner.

Demonstrates a customer service mindset and the ability to gain insights and identify customer needs and opportunities.

Advanced strategic thinking and business acumen.

Demonstrated ability and knowledge to effectively communicate medical, scientific, health economic, and business information to internal and external stakeholders.

Educational Background/Job-Related Experience

Education: Advanced degree required; Doctoral degree - MD, PharmD, or PhD (clinical); MBA or additional degree in health economics, health outcomes, public health or health policy is a plus.

Three (3) or more years in Oncology/Specialty Care therapeutic area(s) such as experience in a Managed Care operation (in a medical/clinical capacity), a population health care setting (for example IDN), or the pharmaceutical industry required. Experience in HEOR or RWE is a plus.
