Part-Time Operations Supervisor

Community Rides Vermont is a new, growing, non-profit 501(c)3, transportation organization that aims to meet Vermonter’s everyday needs through convenient, shared mobility, in a zero-emissions fleet. We are here to provide rides for people to get to work, access health care, run errands, and provide access to social and recreational activities in our all-electric fleet.

The Operations Supervisor is a core member of our small management team and will directly supervise our driving and mobility management staff. The Operations Supervisor will act as the main link between drivers on the road, inquiring passengers, and home base. The Operations Supervisor's primary duty is to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly, which will require frequent communication with drivers, riders, and other partners. The working hours for this role are Monday-Friday,1:00 PM - 6:30 PM.

Description and essential functions:

-Take calls from customers to schedule rides, answer questions about the system and resolve problems

-Receive and dispatch changes to same-day rides

-Communicate with drivers about service delivery, problem resolution, information sharing about new procedures, vehicle information, road information

-Populate daily driver manifest

-Assist with training driving staff

-Work with partners at the contracted transit agency we partner with to optimize the scheduling of rides

-Monitor the route and status of Community Rides VT vehicles to coordinate and schedule rides, and monitor vehicle charge status

-Ability to learn, master and teach others software programs and computer systems utilized for the service

-Ensure compliance with safety, personnel and operating policies, and conduct initial investigations into customer complaints

-Implement new systems, educate others about new systems, and make changes to systems as needed

-Coding and billing rides for appropriate reimbursement

-On-call duties

-Drug and Alcohol Program Manager

-Administrative duties

-Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business administration, financial management, or human services and/or a minimum of three years of related work experience

-Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google programs, aptitude to learn new systems

-Demonstrated sensitivity to issues related to poverty and the barriers faced by people with low incomes

-Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities

-Active listener with excellent communication skills

-Good writing skills

-Sound judgement and critical thinking

-High school diploma or GED

-Pass a pre-employment drug screen (to include marijuana) and background checks – CRVT’s Operations Supervisor is designated as a “safety-sensitive” position, where a criminal conviction may cause the candidate to be deemed ineligible for hire in that position, regardless of the circumstances.

-CRVT has established the goal of a 100 percent drug- and alcohol-free workplace. Applicants will be required to undergo drug testing prior to employment and will be subject to further drug and alcohol testing throughout their employment.
