About Bayley Hazen Builders LLC
Bayley Hazen Builders is a small residential construction company in Craftsbury VT owned by friends Molly Brandt and Ben Trevits. We build 1-2 new construction homes per year and sometimes do reno work as needed. We build high efficiency homes and try to work within 30mins of Craftsbury whenever possible. We prioritize quality of life for our team and delivering a high-quality product to our clients.
Position Summary
We’re looking for a full time, experienced carpenter to work on a new build in Wolcott starting Summer 2025 through at least spring 2025. An ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience building homes and can work independently or as lead carpenter with an apprentice-level carpenter. This could become a permanent position for the right candidate.
Desired Skills and Competencies:
-general knowledge of the carpentry trade, building materials, and reading/following plans
-ability to comfortably and safely operate the full complement of carpentry tools, including traditional hand tools
-capacity to manage the flow of labor and materials in a busy job setting
-ability to lift and carry 50lbs
-comfort working and operating tools at heights
-enjoys working outside in all seasons in most weather
-a strong work ethic, attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills
-a positive, can-do attitude and a mindset seeing challenges as learning opportunities
-lives in the Craftsbury/Wolcott area and willing/able to work up to 1hr away
