Hiring a full-time, year-round General Carpenter / Facilities Director for outdoor campground. Director is responsible for supervising the upkeep, maintenance and repair of the overall facility, as well as new projects or improvements to the physical site. The Facilities Director is a team leader and supervises other full-time and seasonal facilities staff.
Must have the following experience:
Framing and Carpentry: can frame out a rough building. Can build decks, docks, railings, interior walls that are level and square.
Plumbing: can fix and maintain sinks, toilets, showers and pipes leading to and from buildings.
Septic and Water: Understands the basics of how water and waste systems work including wells, holding tanks, and leach fields.
Electrical: Can fix, maintain, and wire basic light switches, AC units, outlets. Can
troubleshoot basic electrical issues.
Landscaping: Understands the basics of soil, water, and topography. Understands basics of water flow underground, drainage, and keep lawns and fields green.
Small engines: Can fix and maintain small engines and tools such as mowers, weed-whackers, and power hand tools.
Can safely operate cars, trucks, dump trucks, tractors. Can tow a heavy trailer. Can operate a snow plow.
Can safely operate power tools (drills, nail guns, etc.), and large shop machines (table saws, drill presses, bandsaws, planer, jointer, etc.). Can safely operate a chainsaw (full safety equipment, chainsaw maintenance and sharpening).
Budget management: Keep track and manage budgets in the areas of grounds, buildings, and capital projects.
Summers are extremely busy (six days a week). Candidate should plan to work one weekend day from April-August. Weekly hours to increase during this time.
