The Grammar School (www.thegrammarschool.org), an independent school serving preschool through eighth grade, located in the town of Putney, Vermont is seeking a Director of Facilities beginning July 1,2025. Founded in 1960, the school is located on 60 acres of fields and woodlands and emphasizes the education of the whole child, focusing on core academics, arts, and outdoor education.
The Director of Facilities reports to the Head of School and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operation and maintenance of the school’s physical plant. The Director of Facilities will be involved in the implementation of the school’s new Strategic Plan and the creation of a new Master Plan.
Essential Functions:
Daily repair and maintenance of facilities, including occasional weekend work
Manage projects associated with campus improvements
Spearhead campus safety measures
Collaborate with staff, parents, students in support of the school’s program
Strategic thinking as appropriate to the master planning process
Custodial management
Oversee school transportation program
Other duties as assigned by the Head of School

CDL preferred or willingness to obtain CDL bus driver’s license
