Job Description:
We are seeking motivated Freelance Canvassers to join our team in collecting signatures from qualified voters to support the approval of a cannabis dispensary in South Burlington. As a Freelance Canvasser, you will play a crucial role in engaging with members of the community, educating them about the benefits of the proposed dispensary, and gathering their signatures to demonstrate local support.
Responsibilities:
-Engage with residents in designated neighborhoods or areas to discuss the proposed cannabis dispensary project.
-Educate community members about the benefits and regulations surrounding cannabis dispensaries, addressing any concerns or misconceptions.
-Collect signatures from qualified voters who support the construction of the dispensary, adhering to all legal requirements and guidelines.
-Maintain accurate records of interactions, signatures collected, and areas canvassed.
-Collaborate with the project team to provide feedback and insights from community interactions.
Requirements:
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to effectively convey information and engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
-Strong persuasion and negotiation skills.
-Familiarity with local regulations and requirements regarding signature collection and community outreach (training will be provided if necessary).
-Reliable and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Access to transportation for canvassing efforts.
-Previous experience in canvassing, community outreach, or similar roles is preferred but not required.
