We are seeking an experienced sales professional for our current business development needs. The
right candidate will help new and potential clients understand the value of our services while
guiding them through our solutions to ensure clients maximize their technology investments.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills will ensure success in converting prospects to
new clients.
The ideal Business Development Professional is a motivated individual with a strong technology background. You should be able to explain deep technical topics and requirements to a largely nontechnical audience of high level business professionals and identify areas our solutions may help strengthen potential client positions.
This position requires experience and understanding of B2B sales, strategic analysis, negotiation
skills and an ability to close deals. Prior MSP experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
The Business Development Professional position requires a diligent approach, outside the box
thinking and an ability to multitask. The right individual will be the driving force behind our new client acquisition, helping augment our strong word of mouth and organic marketing efforts.
A list of job responsibilities include:
Research prospective accounts in targeted markets
Understand target markets, making use of industry, company, contacts and targeted market
strategies to attract new clients
Pursue leads and follow through to a successful agreement
Address potential client concerns and identify/present solutions that fit client needs
Maintain relationships with current clients and identify new prospects
Demonstrate a strong understanding of our products and services, our competition and our
strengths over other vendors
Follow the latest industry trends and developments and stay up-to-date on vendor solutions as
well as industry competition
Perform new client outreach in various means through social media, e-mail and telephone based
initiatives
Requirements
Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of business, sales and technical roles sufficient to be efficient
in generating client relationships while maintaining the solid reputation simpleroute has built with existing
clients. Prior MSP experience is preferred as this is a position requires a delicate balance of understanding
of our industry and a well-rounded individual driving the process. However, we are willing to train the
right candidate for the position provided they come with a base level of technical experience.
Potential applicants may be required to travel to potential client sites as part of the sales process. As a
result, reliable transportation is highly preferred to ensure proper account relationships are maintained.
As with all our positions, a personal background check is required prior to employment.
Among other criteria, the below requirements will be evaluated in accessing applicants:
Five years proven track record in technical sales or related market
Software, networking and VoIP knowledge and/or experience
Solid technical background with hands on experience
An ability to grasp customer needs and suggest timely solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer service skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
BA or BS degree in a relevant field (sales or technology related)
