Summary of Position:
As an assistant event manager, you will need to manage positive customer relationships of Cloud 9 Caterers clients. This will include maintaining correspondence with prospective and existing clients, assisting in menu selection, negotiating costs and event coordination. This individual will also need to develop an in-depth knowledge of the event planning spaces, including local venues, major upcoming events, and other vendors.
Responsibilities:
Manages relationships with prospective and existing clients
Identifies quality sales leads and negotiating contracts
Conducts site visits with clients and event space owners
Acts as liaison between client, office and kitchen staff
Assists in menu development and logistical support for events
Can manage and lead all FOH staff and execute service in order to have a successful event
Provides hands-on support during events
Collaborates with other vendors as needed
Requirements:
Background in the hospitality industry is required, and at least three years of industry experience preferred
Extensive knowledge in food & beverage and fine dining, with a concentration in locality and farm to table products
Prior experience in front of house management, catering or sales roles
Negotiation and communication skills
Available to work nights and weekends as needed
Must be solution oriented
