The Assistant Property Manager/Leasing Agent is responsible for assisting the Property Manager in providing top-tier customer service and excellence in management services. Real Property Management Sterling relies on the property management team to demonstrate leadership and create trust with owners and tenants, as well as contractors and vendors. The Assistant Property Manager/Leasing Agent assists the Property Manager by taking world-class care of the properties we manage. This position is often the face of Real Property Management Sterling.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Handling inquiries from prospective tenants

2. Recording and maintaining prospective tenant information in the agency database

3. Partnering with the Property Manager to prepare advertisements for available rental properties

4. Maintaining an accurate, up-to-date record of available rental properties

5. Demonstrating available rental properties to prospective tenants

6. Preparing incoming property condition reports

7. Responsible to submit weekly feedback from prospective renters for vacant properties

8. Entering lease agreements/creating leases

9. Attending and participating in office meetings

10. Attending and participating in training sessions as directed by the Manager

11. Adhering to all procedures required in this role

12. Providing feedback for and participating in continuous improvement of procedures and processes

13. Other duties as assigned

4. Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives

5. Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications

6. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results

The Assistant Property Manager/Leasing Agent is highly organized with strong time management skills and an understanding of prioritization. Naturally driven to provide excellent customer service and to instill trust, the Assistant Property Manager/Leasing Agent is a natural communicator with good negotiation skills, the ability to work independently, and a professional demeanor.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Some experience in sales/marketing or a service-related industry

2. Computer proficiency—Microsoft Office

3. Local area knowledge

4. Managing referrals across departments

5. Competency in, or the ability to become competent in, the following:

Landlord/Tenant Act

Anti-Discrimination Act

Building Maintenance

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

1. Minimum vacancy factor objectives met

2. Monthly leasing targets met

3. Established customer service standards maintained

4. Vacancies are minimized and maintained within acceptable time lines
