Immediate work available - Begin as early as Monday, April 8th
Looking for full time (and/or) part time seasonal or temporary help in our wholesale tree & shrub nursery located in Charlotte. This is not a retail facility, and although there is limited customer interaction from time to time, the majority of the work is related to caring for existing plant material and loading orders to be picked up or delivered. The job is well suited to those who understand the pros/cons of working outside in all types of weather, and who prefer to be physically active for the majority of the day. It is possible to gain a good understanding of horticulture from this job, which can carry on to future endeavors.
Duties:
- Uncover, organize, & move plants overwintered
- Load, tag, and sell plants to be picked up or delivered
- Shift-up/Plant new shrubs/trees to be grown on
- Miscellaneous tasks related to maintaining the facility and operating the business
Requirements:
- Reliable transportation
- Consistency with schedule (we are flexible as to hours worked, but we cannot accept unreliable employees)
- A good understanding/work ethic when it pertains to the appropriate times to put in high effort vs a work at a slower pace
- A good understanding/work ethic when it pertains to when to pay attention to detail vs focus on speed
- Respect for other staff, employees, the environment, etc.
Pay rate has historically varied, but tends to range from 18 to 32 dollars depending on horticultural experience and available hours. Other factors such as quality of work will dictate direction of pay. Please do not inquire if you are only available at a future date such as May. We need to fill this(these) position(s) immediately.
