About Us
We’re a small family with a big dream—transforming our 100-acre homestead into a resilient, regenerative, diversified farm. Committed to sustainable, organic, and permaculture practices, we’re looking for a dedicated and collaborative Farm Manager to help continue this transformation.
Our hill farm includes multiple ponds, including a trout pond, fruit and nut orchards, 10 acres of pasture, hundreds of perennial plantings, and over 90 acres of hardwood forest and sugarbush. These natural features provide a wealth of agricultural and ecological opportunities we want to explore further.
The Opportunity
We’re seeking a passionate individual, couple, or family to partner with us in managing the farm and homestead. This role extends beyond traditional farm work to comprehensive homestead management, with a strong focus on self-sufficiency and regenerative agriculture. In addition to contributing your skills, you'll have the opportunity to share in this lifestyle.
Responsibilities
Manage daily farm operations, including rotational grazing for our heritage cattle, care for poultry (laying hens), and potentially other livestock.
Garden & orchard care: Maintain annual kitchen and production gardens, orchards, and a perennial food forest, ensuring healthy and productive systems.
Regenerative land management: Implement no-till and permaculture practices, minimize pesticide use, and explore natural pest management techniques.
Explore and support wildcrafting initiatives, including foraging for native herbs, mushrooms, and medicinal plants to enhance the farm’s self-sufficiency and value-added product offerings.
Property maintenance: Maintain and minor repair of buildings, equipment, fencing, and infrastructure.
Seasonal farm upkeep: Handle weatherproofing, plowing, shoveling, landscaping, trail maintenance, woodlot management, and long-term food storage systems.
Collaboration: Work closely with our family to ensure farm operations align with our vision and long-term goals.
Community & partnerships: Coordinate with vendors, partners, and suppliers as needed.

Experience in holistic, integrated farming and homesteading
Knowledge of permaculture, regenerative agriculture, and no-till practices
Skilled in animal husbandry, pasture management, and crop production
Proficient in basic carpentry, equipment maintenance, and farm infrastructure repair
Experience operating and maintaining farm equipment and tools
Strong commitment to sustainability, resilience, and community engagement
Physically capable of handling farm labor and seasonal demands
