Barnard General Store, one of Vermont's oldest and most charming general stores, is hiring a breakfast cook. Hours are Monday-Friday, 6am to noon (or 2pm if more hours are desired). Yes, you read that right! A service industry position with weekends off!
We have an open kitchen, so this position involves a lot of customer interaction. Customer service skills are a must! Menu includes egg sandwiches, bagels, avocado toast, pancakes, homefries, etc. Position includes simple baking and making coffee in the morning before the store opens, cooking breakfast to order, food prep, taking orders, and some register use.
Hourly pay (depends on experience) plus tips and an employee discount on meals and groceries. Experience is preferred, but not required. If you are eager to learn, we are willing to teach!
We make a monthly schedule (rather than weekly) so everyone is aware of their upcoming month and can plan accordingly. We are very good about accommodating requests off, as long as you can give us a heads up!
Our store is historic and unique there are not many places left like it! We have staff who have been with us for 10+ years. Come be part of a great team. Take a jump in Silver Lake after your shift, located right outside our door!
