Posting Details Position will be posted for a minimum of one week, after which it is subject to removal without notice.Advertising Copy Faculty PositionInpatient PsychiatristUniversity of Vermont Health NetworkThe University of Vermont, Robert Larner, MD, College of Medicine and the University of Vermont Health Network – Central Vermont Medical Center ( UVMHN - CVMC ) are seeking a full-time faculty member at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level on the clinical scholar pathway to join an enthusiastic team of professionals on the Inpatient Psychiatry Service.This attending psychiatrist will join an existing inpatient team of psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, activities therapists, nurse practitioners, and physician’s assistants to provide psychiatry inpatient care primarily at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, VT. The selected candidate will provide direct patient care and team leadership on the inpatient unit, with coverage of the emergency department, and consultation on the medical-surgical service. The inpatient service is a 12- bed state-of-the-art adult unit located in a 122-bed community hospital. Opportunities exist to train in and perform ECT .The University of Vermont, Robert Larner, MD, College of Medicine Psychiatry Service hosts medical students on clerkships and electives, sponsors a residency in psychiatry, and sponsors a fellowship in child psychiatry. This faculty member will be a key participant in the education of medical student trainees. An appreciation of the importance of and satisfaction from performing these critical functions and an ability to work collaboratively are essential. An interest in clinical research, teaching, and/or public health is a plus. Knowledge of evidence-based medical practice is essential.Applicants must have a medical degree, eligible for a Vermont medical license, and be board certified/eligible in psychiatry. Fellowship training and experience in inpatient settings is very desirable.The Montpelier-Barre area offers easy access to a number of outdoor activities such as mountain biking, skiing, hunting, fishing, and hiking.
