THE JOB Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre is seeking a Venue Sustainability Crew member to help us take our sustainability program to the next level. This role is the backbone and driving force to help us achieve our goal of zero waste. T his position is part time-seasonal and will work under the Venue Sustainability Manager and be part of the venue operations team. Hours vary on event schedules and facility needs across the venue. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in Venue Sustainability Crew training

Assist in the mid- and post-show sorting process of all recycling, composting, and landfill materials .

Be available to work on event days and non-event days, which can include both weekdays and weekends, to ensure all waste is sorted and diverted.

Assist the Venue Sustainability Manager with educating venue staff and guests on zero waste initiatives.

Maintain a clean sorting area and support the post-show pick after each event, which will result in scheduled shifts occurring on days after the show.

Other tasks assigned by the Venue Sustainability Manager on an as-need basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Position requires about 90% of the time spent walking, bending, reaching, stooping, lifting and carrying 50 lbs.+ with about 65% of that time spent sorting materials .

Comfortable with sorting recyclables and unpleasant odors.

Ability to work outdoors in variable weather (rain or shine).

Strong time management skills to show up on time

Ability to work long or late hours in the evening

Dedication to help us achieve our goal of zero waste.

Be a team-player and work well with other departments.

Must have a positive attitude.

Creative thinker and problem solver.

A strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs.

Experience in events/zero waste events are a plus.
