Job Description:Primary Children’s Hospital’s Pediatric Behavioral Health Service Line is currently recruiting a motivated and skilled psychologist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary behavioral health team at Wasatch Canyons Campus. This position is a compelling opportunity for an individual who enjoys diversity in their work, is comfortable with the pace and complexity of the outpatient environment, and who will seek to rely on and support colleagues through a team-based approach to care. This full-time psychologist position resides in the outpatient behavioral health setting, providing psychological evaluations/consultations and therapeutic interventions (individual, family, group). The psychologist will participate on one or more team-based care groups targeting specific behavioral health conditions, including participation on the DBT consultation team. The psychologist should be 2 years post licensure to allow supervision of pre-doctoral psychology interns in an APA-approved psychology internship training program.The Clinical Psychologist is a vital member of a multi-disciplinary team composed of psychiatrists, psychologists, nursing, and other disciplines to provide holistic or comprehensive medical and counseling services to patients. They interview patients and give diagnostic tests. Additionally, the Clinical Psychologist provides individual, family or group psychotherapy, and collaborates with the behavioral health team to develop and implement behavior modification programs, with treatment and intervention programs that patients can understand and comply with.Position Details:

Salary Range: $48.88 – $75.43 Exempt (Based on experience)

This role will work in clinic 8 am—5 pm daily, Monday through Friday as part of the Outpatient Behavioral Health Team

Seeking a bilingual candidate

Seeking a candidate with at least 2 years post licensure, allowing supervision of psychology interns/post docs in a fully accredited psychology internship training program, this supported by attendance at monthly psychology training/discipline meetings.

ScopeProvide care appropriate to the established plan of care in the assigned patient population.Job Essentials

Assesses the patient's medical history, mental health history, and current presentation to understand the patient's needs from treatment.

Diagnoses and treats various mental, emotional and behavioral disorders.

Develops a plan of care either individually or with input from the patient, patient family/significant others, physicians and other members of the healthcare team.

Provides treatment based on patient need and evidenced based interventions.

Refers patients to other services to improve their well-being. These referrals may include community services, treatment programs, support groups, and/or psychiatrists (or other mental health providers).

Properly documents pertinent information in regard to the patient's plan of care.

Works with the multi-disciplinary team to develop a discharge plan in order to provide further care, services, and referrals in order to ensure continuity of care.

Provides psychological testing as indicated by the patient condition.

Complies with federal, state, local and clinical program/facility standards.

Provides care and treatment within the scope of the Mental Health Practice Act.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D) in Psychology. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

Current Utah license as a psychologist.

Psychologist will adhere to all appropriate standards of practice as outlined by the American Psychological Association, State Licensing Board, and Intermountain Healthcare.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual in Spanish

Experience in a behavioral health outpatient setting.

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and assess various nonverbal cues used in patient diagnosis/assessment in order to understand and develop treatment options.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, as well as hear and respond quickly to emergent needs or issues that may arise with patients.
