Primary Job Duties
Prepare and manage all federal and state corporate income tax filings
Preparation and calculation of quarterly tax estimates and remittance of such amounts to applicable jurisdictions
Mange, review and oversee external consultants on property tax filings, appeals, and assessments
Manage and review all fuel, sales and use, excise, liquor and international taxes filings and assessments
Manage, evaluate and appeal tax assessments and audits for all taxes
Research domestic and international corporate tax issues and prepare applicable memos supporting positions
Assist with preparation of tax provision, tax footnotes and all other tax related items for quarterly financial statements, including vast support documentation required to provide external auditors
Prepare forecasts and budgeted numbers for income, property and other taxes for projected financials
Preferred Skills:
Outstanding listening, speaking, writing and interpersonal skills in both technical and non-technical fields necessary
Knowledge of federal and state income, use and sales, property, excise and other tax law
Ability to prioritize and quickly adapt to changing environments/priorities
Takes initiative and proactively seek solutions/resolution to tax related issues
Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow instructions
Strong tax research skills and ability to solve complex tax issues
Minimum Requirements
Master’s Degree in Accounting, with emphasis in tax
Minimum of two years’ experience in with Public Accounting Firm or in Tax Department of Publicly Traded Company
Strong understanding of federal and state corporate tax law and regulations applicable to consolidated corporate groups
Familiarity with GoSystem or other Corporate consolidated tax return preparation software
Strong verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on quality, detail and accuracy
Proficient in Excel
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including management of outside consulting firms.
Ability to communicate with tax departments of customers to ensure proper coverage of tax obligations
