Job Description: As a Funeral Director Assistant, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of funeral services. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation and execution of funeral ceremonies, maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of the facilities, and providing compassionate support to grieving families and guests.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the setup for funeral services, viewings, and memorial services, including arranging flowers, chairs, and other necessary items.

Transport the deceased in a professional and dignified manner to and from the funeral home, place of worship, or cemetery.

Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the funeral home, including cleaning vehicles used for transportation.

Assist with the preparation of the deceased, including dressing, casketing, and cosmetology, under the direction of a licensed funeral director.

Handle administrative tasks as assigned, such as answering phones, greeting guests, and filing necessary paperwork.

Ensure all funeral services run smoothly and according to the family's wishes and the funeral home's standards.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; further education in mortuary science is a plus.

Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or funeral service is preferred but not required.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide comfort and support to grieving families.

Ability to work with a team and follow directions from funeral directors and other staff members.

Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods.

Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Professional appearance and demeanor.
