$850.00 Bonus pay-out schedule:$200.00 after onboarding and initial training completed$200.00 after 30 days and training completed$450.00 after 6 months of employmentThe Columbus Connects Pre-Employment Specialist provides pre-employment transition services to students with disabilities ages 14-21. This position will guide the student in job exploration, work-based learning, post-secondary opportunities, workplace readiness, and self-advocacy.What you will do:

Work directly with an assigned caseload of students and young adults with disabilities aged 14-21 to gain pre-employment skills, experience a meaningful transition out of high school, learn social and life skills, and/or prepare for competitive employment in the community.

Guide students and parents/guardians through a 7-module program in a timely manner.

Assist parent(s)/guardian(s) in accessing community resources and services, including Medicaid, SSI, DSPD, vocational rehabilitation, etc.

Assists in maintaining relationships with leading disability advocacy groups, service providers, high school special education programs, and various government and nonprofit entities in the area.

Monitor and track each student's progress within the program and provide monthly client reports to the Director.

Assist with quarterly reporting of program outcomes to funding agencies.

Participate as an active member of the Columbus Connects program team; attend all required team and departmental meetings.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure student and parental success within the program.

Accurately document and track data.

What you'll need to succeed:

A bachelor's degree with a focus in social work, special education, or a related field is preferred.

Experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities in a vocational, residential, or employment program is preferred.

Must be at least 18 years old and have a High School diploma or GED.

Must have a valid driver's license, auto insurance and a clean driving record.

Must pass an initial criminal background and then annually thereafter

Must complete ACRE certification within 6 months of hire and complete all training requirements associated with this position annually thereafter.
