Help Desk Technician (Entry Level)

Our Client, a Fortune-50 telecom, internet and tv provider, has one opening for a Help Desk Technician.This is a contract position that is scheduled to last at a minimum through 1/31/22 and could be extended beyond. This group is expected to interview and hire on a very quick timeline. Would be working through a ticketing system and troubleshooting any issues that arise with desktops, laptops, iphones, ipads. This is an internal facing position that would not work with external customers. Looking for someone who has 1-3 years of IT experience. A+ certification or any others are a bonus but not required.Pay range is $13-15/hr W2. This position is 100% onsite in Sandy, UT. There could be some local travel involved but would be 5% of the time max.Schedule is M-F daytime hours, this group provides support from 6am-5pm, so the 8-hour workday would fall within that window.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide first level contact and convey resolutions to issues through phone, email, or in-person
  • Properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support
  • Track, route and redirect problems to correct resources
  • Walk customers through problem solving process
  • Follow up with customers, provide feedback and see problems through to resolution
  • Utilize excellent customer service skills and exceed customers’ expectations
  • Ensure proper recording, documentation and closure
  • Recommended procedure modifications or improvements
  • Preserve and grow your knowledge of help desk procedures, products and services
  • Must possess broad knowledge and proficiency with popular operating systems, application software, desktop and laptop computers, printers and networks

Skills:
  • Proven working experience in providing help desk support
  • Proficiency in English
  • Working knowledge of help desk software, databases and remote control
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
  • BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
