As a Senior Protector, this role will support and uphold AWP’s core values and mission to protect our
customers’ people, businesses, and time. Controls movement of vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic
through work zones using hand signals with a STOP/SLOW Paddle. Reviews, comprehends, and executes
temporary traffic control plans and/or standards to ensure work zones are properly installed and maintained.
Coordinates and communicates with customers to ensure the safety of all workers.RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up, maintain, and remove Advance Warning Signs, Channelizing Devices, and other traffic control
devices according to Federal, State, and/or Local Temporary Traffic Control Guidelines and
Temporary Traffic Control Plans for simple and intermediate complexity work zones
Maintain a Flagger Station by standing and controlling road users through the use of hand signals
with a STOP/SLOW Paddle
Drive a company vehicle to transport equipment, trailers, and team members to and from work sites
safely and in a timely manner. May also pull lightweight trailered equipment
Effective radio communication with team members on work site
Follow all company safety procedures and practices
Notify Supervisor of any potential safety issues or incidents
Achieve organizational required training within timeframe established by Project Manager or Facility
Manager
Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to Protector
Other duties as assigned
