Telecom Engineer

• Provides highly skilled technical consulting at the expert level.
• Working independently, designs, troubleshoots, and monitors telecommunications and packet network infrastructure.
• Monitors and maintains compliance with regulations for networks and serves as subject matter expert. Responsibilities include fiber optic infrastructure, provisioning circuits and using monitoring tools to alarm telecom and network equipment including multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), IP network routers and switches, synchronous optical networks (SONET), microwave radio, two-way radio.
• Leads multi-million-dollar capital projects, either independently or as the technical peer of the assigned Project Manager.
• Resolves the most complex network problems.
• Represents company with vendors to identify and purchase hardware and software.
• Oversees and approves contractor work performed on fiber and microwave systems.
• Works with multiple business units on multi-project assignments. Mentors and advises less experienced Network Analysts.
• 5+ years of telecommunications network experience desired.
• Expert-level understanding of network planning or analysis.
• Lead or Technical SME role on major telecommunications projects or operations.
