AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Scientist to join our Salt Lake City, Utah Remediation team. We are seeking candidates who will be able to immediately contribute to the successful delivery of existing projects and promote growth in existing and new markets. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting, design, and implementation services to our key clients. AECOM is seeking a candidate who has a technical background in the environmental investigation/remediation consulting industry and who would like to grow their career into becoming an Environmental Project Manager.Responsibilities for this position may include the following:Task or project management and lead teams for field activities consisting of air, soil vapor, soil, groundwater and sediment sample collection, geologic logging (unconsolidated sediments and bedrock), and interpretation.Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop remedial approaches for soil and groundwater impact, including feasibility studies, removal action work plans, and remediation design plans.Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.Preparation of written reports, work plans, and technical memorandums and analysis of data and development of supported conclusions.Preparation and implementation of work plans, cost estimates, data compilation/analysis, and report preparation.Preparation of proposals and costs estimates for new opportunities.Execute fieldwork by directing and overseeing individual or multiple contractors (laboratory, drillers, surveyors, excavation contractors).Liaison with clients/client representatives, site facilities, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.Health and safety planning and hazard recognition.Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable meeting with clients, regulatory case managers, colleagues, and sub-contractors alike.
