Position InformationPosition/Rank Cardiac Electrophysiologist Opportunities, Faculty Rank and Track Commensurate with ExperienceDepartment 00224 - Internal Medicine AdminCity Salt Lake City, UTTrack Track Dependent on QualificationsNew Position to Begin When filledDetailsThe Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Utah seeks a BE/BC cardiac electrophysiologist to join a group of 5 electrophysiologists, with 3 additional electrophysiologists at the SLC VAMC , at University Hospital in a collaborative mission to support research, education, and clinical care for heart rhythm disorders.The University of Utah Hospital has 2 dedicated electrophysiology laboratories and 1 additional lab under construction. All labs are equipped with multiple contemporary mapping systems and a variety of ablation tools. These labs are supported by a dedicated EP technical team. A hybrid lab is available for lead extractions.The University of Utah serves as a regional referral center for Utah and the surrounding states and provides expertise in complex atrial and ventricular ablations, all forms of cardiac implantable technologies, and chronic device/lead extractions.Candidates should have proficiency in catheter ablation for atrial and ventricular arrhythmias; experience in ICDs, pacemakers (traditional, leadless, and physiologic systems), and cardiac device/lead extractions. Additional opportunities for complex arrhythmia management are available through large referral practices that support adult congenital heart disease, advanced heart failure, sports cardiology, and inherited channelopathies and cardiomyopathies.Applicants should show an interest in a clinical academic career, including teaching, expert clinical care, research, and other scholarly activities. Allocation of time for research is available based upon prior experience, current funding, and career goals through negotiation with the division chief.Compensation will be based on academic rank, administrative, and educational experience. Rank and Track will be determined based on qualifications. Review begins immediately, continuing until the position is filled or the search is closed.We are looking for early to mid-career candidates interested in career opportunities in our electrophysiology lab. This opportunity includes all areas of clinical electrophysiology, including Afib ablation, complex ventricular arrhythmias, and implant and explant devices.
