Responsibilities:Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.Prepares patients for exam using appropriate body mechanics.Identifies proper exams based on patient need and utilizes correct exam techniques.Produces quality images through the appropriate operation of equipment/instrumentation.Follows proper patient identification protocols.Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.Maintains work area and stocks needed supplies.Transports patients as needed.Develops specific knowledge with regard to invasive, diagnostic and interventional supplies, appropriate indications and applications, and proper use and deployment techniques.At the end of the procedure, may apply closure device, suture the sheath in place, or remove the sheath and apply pressure to obtain hemostasis.Understands and applies principles of x-ray generation and safety.Understands and demonstrates the correct operation of imaging equipment.Provides patient education, as needed and assures patient comfort.Provides procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech, according to Angio lab policies and procedures and Scope of Practice documents. Requirements & Certifications:HS diploma or GEDARRT registrationState of Utah Rad Tech License.Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.Must have Vascular/Interventional radiography certification, or one year of Angio/Interventional experience. Preferred Certifications & Licensure:ACLS or PALS certification.
