Responsible for generation, availability, contract administration, safety, compliance, and the overall performance of the wind project(s). Implements and supports company programs and policies and plans and manages daily, weekly and monthly work functions in a cost-effective manner.Responsibilities Maintain a safe and clean working environment by observing safety and security policies and procedures, and reporting/correcting potentially unsafe conditions as outlined in the PacifiCorp Accident Prevention Manual and other applicable safety programs and policies. Monitor and ensure local, state and federal environmental, safety and compliance regulations are strictly enforced. Financial responsibilities in managing budget by controlling costs and providing monthly forecast and actual spends. Oversee daily wind generation operation and maintenance activities to achieve safe, efficient, environmentally compliant and cost-effective wind powered electrical generation. Ensures work is planned, prioritized, scheduled and performed in a cost-effective manner. Develop, maintain and update assigned plants’ operating procedures and guidelines. Manage contractor performance and ensure adherence to contract commercial terms. Design and implement contractor orientation on safety and contract compliance. Develop scope, schedule, and costs of potential contracts and establish bid packages, evaluate qualified bidders, and complete contractor evaluations. Perform project management responsibilities on unit outages, major overhauls and other projects as assigned. Provide budgeting, accruals, forecasting, and variance analysis support to upper management. Ensure the timely and reliable maintenance of the assigned wind plant facilities. Supervise represented and/or contract employees within the guidelines of the applicable working agreements and enforce safety. Act as company liaison with property owners and maintain compliance with applicable leases or agreements. Responsible for weekly, monthly and/or quarterly environmental and safety inspections, tracking, documentation and reporting. Provide direction and oversight for material and inventory management for assigned plants, including shipping, receiving and ordering of materials. Ensure generation availability and production expectations are delivered through cooperative relationships with corporate trading and load dispatching groups. Any other duties as assigned.Requirements The equivalent combination of plant supervisor experience and education or bachelor’s degree in an applicable field. A minimum of five years of operations and maintenance experience in a power plant or similar industrial facility. Must be flexible and available in responding to after-hour emergencies. Commitment and dedication to manage projects or assignments through completion. Ability to use computer applications for written communication, planning, budgeting and project scheduling. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate expectations, provide feedback, and work collaboratively with other departments. Leadership and teamwork skills to develop and promote cooperative working relationships within their contractors, other maintenance crews and among departments. Ability to make timely decisions during critical plant conditions. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers. Ability to work at heights and climb wind turbines (300 plus feet) repeatedly during a day. Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly during a day. Ability to acquire and maintain a Department of Transportation medical certificate.Preferences Previous experience as a maintenance supervisor at wind power plant. Knowledge of wind power plant operations and plant systems. Supervisory skills including the ability to implement action plans for achieving objectives, and to manage daily operations toward long term objectives. Experience in Industrial Project Management. Familiarity with maintenance management systems, particularly SAP/MAXIMO. Familiarity with preventative maintenance systems. Familiarity with precision maintenance practices. Technical knowledge and problem solving skills for maintenance of equipment used in power generation.
