Assistant confectioner position:
This is a physically demanding position.
Duties:
Running the batch roller machine.
Prepping candy for the batch roller
Prepping the cutting room.
Cleaning.
Assisting in the kitchen.
Coordination with other positions.
Requirements:
Ability to lift 60+ pounds up to almost 6 feet high repeatedly.
Sufficient arm strength to roll caramel blocks into cylinders (requires significant strength and body weight).
Strong attention to detail.
Significant hand strength.
Ability to learn new skills.
Ability to work on your feet for extended periods.
Ability to rad and understand English.
Hours:
8:00am to 4:30 five days per week.
Some Saturdays, no Sundays.
This is a part-time position to start. The expectation is that this will work into a full-time position.
Pay:
$14/hour to start
Additional pay possible for someone with confectionery experience.
If you are experienced with chocolate (tempering, molding, enrobing), fondant creams, and/or hard candies, please send a resume with salary history. That would be a position senior to what is described here as an assistant/helper.
Must be able to complete an I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form.

Ability to speak Spanish helpful but not required.
