Marketing Intern - PAID

Utah, Provo / orem, 84601 Provo / orem USA

An excellent opportunity to learn and help with marketing with an existing startup that has already produced revenue and has thousands of customers—but is now scaling to the next level. It partners with Priceline/Booking.com#1 travel site, etc. to use existing personal, family, and company travel as a fundraiser for school sports, bands, soccer & football teams, and charitable causes to pay for equipment, trips, awards, scholarships, etc. (long-term vs short-term fundraising).

They use booking systems they are already familiar with, (so nothing to sell—just use a different URL when booking), but they can save up to 30% off their travel cost (part of a huge group discount), and a big chunk of the booking fees goes toward their fundraiser. So they help fundraise all year long.

The company is virtual, but based in Utah with a virtual team that is also in Austin, TX.

You will work directly for the company, but also side-by-side with a well-known industry consultantin photo with blue shirt (former VP Marketing at GE, Sr. VP Marketing at Motorola, Launched Netscape, Helped form Red Storm with Tom Clancy, consulted with over 400 companies (including 3M, Microsoft, Dell, Google, Adobe, Intel, Sony, Apple, Disney, etc.)enthusiastic and fun (but works hard)) who will train, coach, mentor and help you with everything.

This is not a normal internship. You will do real marketing and make a real contribution. The #1 requirementpassion and excitement to learn and do real marketing. No experience required—will train and mentor.

Regular or flexible hours—to cater to a student’s schedule, but prefer two full-time interns that have already graduated and may be looking for their first or second job out of college.

General Description

The marketing Intern will help to identify the best market segments (will show how), define and build the alliance program, and help with the website, PR, ads, copywriting, promotional campaigns, competitive analysis, white papers/case studies, database, to help bring groups onboard, then help with onboarding and setting up automated group promotions as they sign up. You will usually work with parents and designated fund-raiser contacts.

Duties include:

- Market segmentation and unique position (Why someone would be a "fool" not consider "this" fundraiser)

- Persuasive document (you'll do the initial and final drafts of the copy).

- Learn and execute the elements for an effective website, plus the most modern 58 steps to online SEO.

Alliance and Affiliate Marketing

Other marketing items we discover along the way (copywriting, model, advertising, etc.) to help the company dominate its space.

Again, NO EXPERIENCE is necessarybut the experience will be amazing. Past interns from this same consultant now have their own agencies, work for Bain & Associates, are over marketing at Red Hat, have launched #1 best-selling products, and work at Cisco, Symantec, Apple, Motorola, Dell, etc. This is one of the most comprehensive, fast-paced but exciting chances to learn and do real marketing and it helped launch entire careers.

You will work side by side with the company consultant to set up and execute everything (and will receive samples, templates, examples, help, coaching, and review for everything). Some of the work is boring (like with every job), but MOST is notvery roll up your sleeves and get it done type of work that drives the brand preference and spikes adoption.

Knowledge & Skills

This is a marketing, not a technical rolebut you must be very comfortable with technology, have a passion for it, and must know MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Excellent English skills (all marketing writes)! Have access to a high-speed internet connection and have your own laptop/computer (with MS Office or Open Office).

You'll work remotely, but will also be networked with the team—including other interns that are doing similar work with the consultantso you can also collaborate on similar projects.

A high degree of organization, with self-motivation and marketing PASSION. This person must quickly learn the offering and the market and contribute. You must be assertive to get what you need to accomplish projects.

Prefer a recent graduate looking for their first or second job (in marketing) out of college—but needs real experience and mentoring from a world-class multi-billion VP of Marketing. Will also consider a part-time responsible Junior or Senior in college working on a business degree (marketing, PR, business major preferred since this will be applicable experience, or an MBA candidate that wants real experience (but must be very teachable (will learn a LOT of new concepts fastand then execute).

About 70% of interns in these roles ended up working for the companies they helpedso, although not guaranteed, this has the potential of becoming a position out of college.

40 hours/week if full-time. 20 or more hours/week if part-time. Work at home, your dorm or even on campus, depending on the tasks.

Pay

- $15.00/hour. Not a ton of money, but the real marketing experience is priceless.
