Wise Connect, Inc./GridSource is seeking Fiber Service Wire Technicians in Ogden, UT
Installation of aerial and underground fiber optic cables from servicing terminals to demarcation at the customer's premises.
Clean and connect fiber cable at the FSAI, MST, and ONT. Technicians must be truck and tooled. Seeking fully qualified techs that
have experience with aerial and/or underground cable installation and have worked at heights of 18+ feet on an extension ladder.
Strong customer communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to customers is required.
Work Environment:
May climb and work at elevations (e.g., from ladders, lift trucks) exceeding 18 feet
May perform strenuous physical activities including, but not limited to: lifting objects weighing over 75 pounds
May perform job activities outdoors in different weather conditions (e.g., extreme cold and/or heat, inclement weather)
When working aloft, employee's weight and tools combined may not exceed the 300-pound weight limit as specified by the manufacturer
Requirements:
Technician must have their own truck, van, or SUV with a ladder rack
Technician must have their own tools to perform the job. Android smart phone is also a requirement. Laptop may be required
Technician must have Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This includes: lace up boots with a defined 1/2-inch heel, a hard hat, a reflective
vest, a fall resistor, and safety cones. Other equipment may be required by local management
Must be available to work flexible hours. Weekend work may be required.
Must pass background check and drug test
