Position:  - EN Electrical Engineer(Prepare electrical design drawings for construction, supporting calculations)
Location: Ogden, UT 84404Long Term Contract (Onsite) Job Summary:
This position is for an Electrical Engineer who will prepare electrical design drawings for construction, supporting calculations, and equipment/commodity specifications for Electrical systems associated with the Sentinel project sites.
Major Responsibilities:
This role will support design documentation development of Electrical systems and equipment for the Sentinel program project by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, data sheets, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. Additional responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Work under the direction of senior engineers/designers to develop design products.
Reviews client requirements and incorporates them into a design product
Coordinates the reviews of deliverables between the client as well as other engineering disciplines/functions. Reviews and resolves comments/feedback on the deliverables
Ensures electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards such as the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70)
Reviews and checks design deliverables for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality and satisfactory completion
Travel to project locations as required.
Assists in the development of electrical design deliverables such as but not limited to:
Single line drawings
Panel schedule drawings
Schematics
Cable block diagrams
Electrical system calculations
Lightning protection design
Cathodic protection design
Bill of materials/material take offs
Equipment sizing calculations
Equipment specifications for purchasing, installing, operating
Education and Experience Requirements:
Level I
Requires a University Hire with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering with less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
Level II
Requires a University Hire with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering with 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively.
Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards
Knowledge of electrical systems, schematics and layouts.
Ability to execute work independently.
Possess active security clearance
MS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
Knowledge of power systems load modeling and analysis tools, such as ETAP.
Prior work experience in multi-project environment and demonstrated flexibility in work assignments.
Understanding of engineering drawings, systems calculations, equipment sizing and cable sizing.
Passed Engineering in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering Examination in USA (Electrical Engineering).
