Job ID 17372 The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) has been developing innovative technologies and solutions for cutting-edge DoD, intelligence, and NASA partners for over six decades. SDL’s internship program provides an exciting opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to get involved with state-of-the art technologies in space-, airborne-, and ground-based systems. With the support of engineers and mentors, interns are able to work on professional-level assignments that complement their academic studies. The program also includes training workshops, networking opportunities, and a variety of summer events and activities. The C4ISR Division is looking for an exceptional undergraduate or graduate student to explore cyber engineering concepts in support of a DoD customer. Interns will be tasked with varying duties based on current projects, team structure, and individual interests. The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.), software engineering (C, Python, Java, etc.), networking, log analysis and an interest in developing a security operations center. Potential Duties:
Researching attack vectors
Threat modeling systems
Creating custom mitigations
Deploying and testing cloud environments for cyber vulnerabilities
Developing defensive tactics, techniques, and procedures
Requirements:
College courses that will be completed by Summer 2024:
C, Java, or Python
Data structures
Exposure to Git and software management
Experience with the Linux command line
Understanding of cyber threats
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
Proven ability to work on a team
Ability to track and prioritize duties
Security clearance eligibility required (Must be a US Citizen)
Desired Qualifications
Experience in cyber pen testing
Experience with data analytics and data engineering
Experience in system modeling or threat modeling
Experience with AWS security services
Experience with firewall rulesets, intrusion prevention systems, security incident and event monitoring tools, etc.
