Holcim is 70,000 people around the world who are passionate about building progress for people and the planet through four business segments: Cement, Ready-Mix Concrete, Aggregates and Solutions & Products.Description:ABOUT THE ROLE The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is tasked with performing maintenance on all plant equipment and facilities. This includes repair work, welding, preventative maintenance inspections, and equipment installation. A strong mechanical aptitude is essential for success in this role.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Ensure Safety: Adhere to plant-specific safety policies and procedures.

Mechanical Maintenance: Manage all mechanical maintenance activities and conduct regular preventative maintenance inspections.

Repair and Fabrication: Perform repairs and fabricate parts according to work orders, ensuring quality workmanship.

Documentation: Accurately record repair activities, tool usage, and maintenance history in work orders.

Communication: Provide detailed weekly reports to the Planner on equipment repairs and needed improvements.

Troubleshooting and Tool Proficiency: Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and safe use of tools and equipment.

Equipment Repair: Repair a variety of equipment, including conveyors, mills, and material handling machinery.

Hydraulics and Alignment: Understand basic hydraulics, read schematics, and ensure proper coupling alignment.

Independent Operation: Work independently without direct supervision, including responding to call-outs as needed.

SAP System: Create notifications and work orders in the SAP system

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of trade school or a relevant training program is preferred.

Industrial maintenance experience is required; familiarity with the cement manufacturing process and related equipment is a plus.

Computer Skills: Basic proficiency in computer usage.

Work Ethic: Demonstrate strong work standards and maintain an excellent attendance record.

Troubleshooting: Possess solid troubleshooting skills.

Additional Requirements:

Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
