At Zions Bancorporation we are currently looking for a Software Asset Management (Business Analyst) to join its IT Asset Management team within our ETO department. We look for self-motivated individuals, dedicated to providing value and superior service. The analyst will work closely with Architecture and DevOps teams, IT Security, IT Vendor Management, and Procurement to help maintain the day-to-day records responsible for containing information pertaining to the organization’s on-premise software technologies, including virtual infrastructure and container environments. Will provide guidance on impacts to licensing models, and optimization of spend for software technologies. Additionally, the analyst will be responsible for developing and implementing effective processes to mature software asset management within the organization. The Software Asset Management (Business Analyst) will:
Partner with procurement to develop best practices to track and report on all software spending
Stays informed of new and updated software license models and options for key vendor products
Assess the completeness of existing software, virtual and container inventory through queries, data analysis, owner surveys and/or engagement
Support remediation plans to satisfy regulatory, audit, or business requirements directly related to software technologies
Identify and implement automation processes where available to ensure adherence to compliance for all software technologies
Assist in the development of roadmaps, including high-level needs analysis, solution evaluation and preparation of business cases related to proposed solutions
Apply various analytical tools and software asset experience to increase quality, productivity, and overall effectiveness of software technologies
Assist in developing user documentation and training to ensure asset owners are compliant with software asset standards
Perform project management leadership functions as a project manager or team member
Assist in software audit activities
Will be the subject matter expert for software assets within ITAM focusing on compliance, optimization, governance, and risk
Analyze large data sets and provide insight on identified trends, risks, and gaps
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of business systems (ServiceNow, Azure Dev Ops), systems analysis processes, procedures, project techniques and practices. Knowledge of department specific system applications or products
Working knowledge of virtual and container technologies (VMWare, Docker, Kubernetes)
IAITAM CSAM certification is a plus
Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to detail
Proficient using Excel and other data analysis tools
Working knowledge of data visualization tools including Power BI
Ability to elicit, gather and analyze user/business requirements
Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to function in a consultative role and manage a team or project
Requires interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both management and staff employees
Bachelor’s in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field and 6+ years’ experience in software asset management, business analysis, project management, multiple technologies, frameworks, systems or other directly related experience
A combination of education and experience may meet requirements
Location:
This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
