The primary focus of the Auto Glass Technician is to replace or repair broken windshields and window glass in motor vehicles and equipment using proper tools and methods to ensure quality installation while following all Novus Glass Safety Policies and Procedure Guidelines.
Under the direction of the Novus Glass Management, the Auto Glass Technician shall be responsible for Auto Glass Replacements, Auto Glass Repairs, safety glass installation, keeping their work area clean and free of debris, and all other duties as assigned. They shall promote and contribute to the team effort by accomplishing results as needed and will possess the skills and qualifications to perform all jobs as required.
Duties, Responsibilities and Authorities:
Responsible for all Damage Reports prior to the installation of all glass.
Removes all dirt, foreign matter and loose glass prior to installation of new glass.
Primes all scratches prior to installation of new glass.
Examines new product for damage or defects before removal of old glass.
Selects appropriate tools, safety equipment and parts according to job requirements.
Replaces all moldings, clips, windshield wipers, and any other parts removed during replacement or repair of glass.
Cut flat safety glass according to specified patterns or perform precision pattern making and glass cutting to custom fit replacement glass.
Replace or adjust motorized or manual window raising mechanisms.
Responsible for the appearance of customer’s vehicle / equipment after installation of glass.
Responsible for the appearance and serviceability of the Shop/Mobile Van.
Complies with all safety policies and procedures.
Provide training for current and/or new employees.
All other duties as assigned by Management.
Skills and Qualifications:
High School or equivalent (GED)
Organizational skills
Willingness to train
Ability to take direction and follow procedures
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to lift 75lbs periodically, 35lbs routinely and occasionally lifting/holding above one’s head and from elevated job sites
Knowledge of market area
Excellent driving record as well as a valid driver's license
