As a Patient Financial Counselor, you will be responsible for assisting patients with billing inquiries and ensuring a positive customer experience. The Patient Financial Counselor is a hybrid role, meaning work weeks will alternate between being onsite one week and remote the next week. Primary Responsibilities:
Evaluate patients' financial situations to determine eligibility for financial assistance programs, insurance coverage, or payment plans.
Offer guidance and support to patients regarding healthcare billing, insurance claims, and options for managing medical expenses.
Assist patients in setting up payment schedules or negotiating payment agreements to ensure timely resolution of medical bills.
Explain hospital or clinic financial policies, procedures, and available resources to help patients understand their financial obligations and rights.
Maintain accurate records of financial counseling sessions, payment arrangements, and communications with patients to ensure compliance with regulations and facilitate follow-up as needed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a healthcare role or a billing role.
Excellent customer service skills.
