Designs, manufacture, and install various interior and exterior signs, banners, and window coverings. Should have experience with graphic programs (Illustrator, Photo Shop etc.)Responsibilities
Creates, designs, and produces standard and customized signage.
Prepares layouts for all types of floor coverings.
Measures and cuts covering material according to blueprints and sketches.
Prepares labor and materials estimates for projects, working with the customers to meet their needs.
Operates PC based sign making programs and engravers and plotters.
Consults with customers as needed to develop design concepts, gather information, and discuss alternatives regarding requests.
Installs signage and banners in appropriate locations per specifications and requirements.
Cleans equipment, shop area, and work site.
Completes building audits for assigned locations to evaluate the condition of signs and identify any repairs that are needed.
Provides technical guidance and direction to less senior technicians.
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned such as assists work in the other areas of the Finishes Shop as; painting, upholstery, and floor installation.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements:
Minimum of four (4) years work experience in design and signage industry.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Computer skills
Basic customer service skills
Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers
Skill in the use of various hand and power tools common to the trade
Ability to work without supervision
Comprehensive knowledge of all types of floor coverings and installation and repair techniques
Skill in applying all types of floor covering methods and techniques
Skill in evaluating jobs and determining the appropriate action to take and what materials to use
Technical problem-solving skills within area of specialty
Ability to read, understand, and complete projects to specifications from blue prints and schematic drawings
