We succeed as a team by embracing integrity, mutual respect, innovation, service, sustainability, and financial strength.Position OverviewThe General Manager, JBP South Ready Mix, is responsible to lead and manage the company in all aspects of safety, operations, sales, finance, quality control, equipment and critical support functions with primary responsibility for ensuring effective execution of company operational performance and growth strategy. This position manages the primary responsibilities for ensuring effective execution of ready-mix operational performance and growth strategy. Competency requirements include business acumen, customer focus, developing direct reports, drive for results, strategic agility and building effective teams. The preferred candidate can lead and motivate within a safe team environment.Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

P&L responsibility for approximately $200M business, including sales, operations, and logistics

Develop five-year strategy and roadmap for business including creating strategies to drive future growth

Drives continuous improvement using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure and manage the business

Promote a safe working culture for all employees; work with safety and field personnel to minimize risk and always increase safety for employees

Responsible for daily operations including safe production, quality, customer focus and maintaining the integrity of the safety and environmental systems within the Company's ready-mix operations

Will supervisor and provide managerial oversight to the entire Ready-Mix team/operations for the south operations

Drive operational performance and improvements to meet or exceed company, regional and divisional goals

Generate and manage the operating budget for the fiscal year under the direction of the Vice President and achieves financial objectives by analyzing variances and initiating actions

Meet or exceed company safety standards

Ensures product quality and expected customer service levels are met for assigned operational sites

Provide leadership and direction to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources

Build effective teams and develop (direct reports) for future opportunities

Complies with Federal, State and Local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on an as needed basis

Provide advice and support to team during the job bidding process

Management of Capital Expenditure projects for assigned area

Work with Company Vice President to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies

Provide leadership and direction in sales and marketing efforts resulting in maximum product sales, meeting or exceeding customer expectations, and driving maximum profitability

Lead team in personal performance management, training and development, succession planning and effective recruiting and hiring

Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required

Other duties as may be assigned

QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineerin

g, Business Administration, or other related discipline and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities

Expertise across a wide range of business functions (key focus on str tegy, commercial, operations, finance and supply chain), with preference given to prior P&L management

10+ years of progressive management/executive experience in a manufacturing or related business, with preference for building products and construction materials industries

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

Ability to prepare annual budgets and work with and/or administer budget; ability to answer questions and present financial data to Company Vice President, Regional President and others

Knowledge and understanding of functional areas within the ready-mix operations and sales

Ability to work with peers and other members of management team from all lines of business to achieve progress towards mutual goals

Excellent interpersonal skills and exemplary oral/written communication skills

Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and ability to present themselves professionally

Strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus

Experience in strategic planning and execution

Demonstrated success in managing large group of employees

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Project management skills

High standard of ethics, integrity, and trust

Strong work ethic and high standards for safety in the workplace

Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant

Effective interpersonal and communication skills; building rapport, listening, presenting, giving and receiving feedback

Ability to communicate with civic leaders and local, state, and national policy makers

Must be available as needed during non-traditional work hours

Must be able to work independently and with groups

Must be able to work under time constraints as needed

General Requirements

Must be 18 years in age or older

Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required

Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required

Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary

Mobility to attend various meetings and events at offsite locations

Hours are extended throughout the year to include nights and weekends when necessary
