Job Title: Lead, Project Engineer Job Code : 15808 Job Location: Waco, TX (100% Onsite) Schedule: 9/80 (Every other Friday off) Job Description: L3Harris is actively seeking a Project Engineering (PE) Lead to support our Project Engineering organization in Waco, TX. The Project Engineer (PE) holds technical responsibility and authority for the program under the direction of the Program Manager (PM), Engineering Leadership and the Chief Engineer (CE). This includes but is not limited to:

Planning and execution of program activities,

Documenting, an approval of program plans,

Ensuring life cycle process adherence,

Risk identification and management,

Overall program coordination during the program lifecycle.

To this end the individual Engineering Functional Task Leaders (Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Specialty Engineering, Logistic Engineering, Technical Publications, etc.) report to/and take direction from the SE/PE for the assigned program operations.

Essential Functions:

Proposal Execution – Formulate and communicate a solution, collect/review labor and material costs, and summarize proposal information for senior leadership review

Program Planning, Guidance, and Execution – Work with program management to develop the program execution schedule, effectively communicate with the entire program team, and guide the team through the execution of all required tasking to complete the contract

Customer and Senior Leadership Interaction and Communication – Effectively communicate with external customers and internal senior leadership on the design and implementation of the contractually required capabilities and manage expectations

Lead Program Integrated Product Teams of cross-disciplined engineers with internal and external members

Mentor less experienced engineers in the area of Project Engineering and Integration

Perform other duties as assigned

Ability to travel – Up to 25%

Experience with the following processes is required:

Bidding and Proposal

Technical Writing

Program Planning, Guidance, and Execution

Customer Interaction and Communication

Executive Level Interaction and Communication

Engineering Execution

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.

OR Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.

In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance which includes United States Citizenship.

Preferred Additional Skills:

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for various engineering disciplines. Experience with as many of the following engineering disciplines is desired:

Project Engineering

Systems Engineering

Software/ Hardware Engineering

Aeronautical Engineering (Electrical, Structural, Mechanical, Stress, Mass Properties, Aerodynamics, etc.)

EMI/EMC Engineering

Test Engineering

Mission Systems

It is also desired that the Candidate have the following:

Aircraft and System Integration Experience

Solid communication skills

Experience with FAA (STC) and Military (MTC) certification activities.

L3H Proposal Experience – Experience with L3H processes

Entire Program/Engineering Life Cycle Phases and Activities

Aircraft Modification and Modernization

Experience with Microsoft Project and Developing Engineering Schedules

FAA and Military Certification Experience

Architecting mission system configurations to meet customer needs

Ground, aircraft, space or shipborne mission system integration expertise

ISR products and Platforms
