Whitacre College of Engineering at Texas Tech University (TTU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position beginning in the Fall of 2025. The Department intends to grow aerospace engineering programs. Preference will be given to applicants whose research focus has strong applications in aerospace engineering and aligns with the College of Engineering’s major research thrusts. The areas of interest include (1) robotics, flight dynamics & controls, (2) hypersonic propulsion and high-speed flows, and (3) energy for sustainability. This position is at the Assistant Professor level, but exceptional candidates with outstanding credentials and appropriate academic experience will be considered for the rank of Associate Professor/Full Professor. Candidates must have a terminal degree in an engineering field. The college graduates about 900 BS, 450 MS and 60 PhD per academic year recently. All incoming first year students are enrolled to a common foundational curriculum for all undergraduate programs. Foundational students declare a program of choice and can move into upper division after completing the foundational classes with a minimum of 2.5 TTU GPA or higher. WCOE consists of the Departments of Chemical Engineering; Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering; Computer Science; Electrical & Computer Engineering; Industrial, Manufacturing and Systems Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; and Petroleum Engineering. An earned Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline by the date of appointment.
A successful candidate is expected to have teaching experience in undergraduate and graduate courses of aerospace program.
