Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.The primary purpose of the Associate Compensation Analyst position is to provide professional and technical expertise on Human Resources and compensation programs.JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIESProgram SupportAssists with Compensation projects, including developing internal systems, job description maintenance, management training and presentations, developing questionnaires, mid-year market analysis, and contributing to planning annual compensation programs. Assists with human resources policy questions and requests. Identifies and responds to requests for exceptions. Assists department with compensation processes, e.g. processing, job evaluation, job design, structure creation and work flow restructuring, salary reviews and related issues. Works with other areas of human resources to provide general human resources expertise to clients as requested and/or needed.Job EvaluationAssists with review of position classifications and organizational structures. Reads job and position descriptions. Uses judgement to determine appropriate job title and job description or pay plan action. Creates, writes and revises job descriptions, analyzes job structures, evaluates hierarchical needs researches market data, and makes appropriate formal written recommendations and/or presentations to the departments. Recommends changes to the pay plan based on findings. Conducts job audits as needed to evaluate positions.Salary Analysis Conducts extensive qualitative and quantitative analysis on overall structure and pay programs, including market analysis, cost/benefit analysis, regulatory compliance and organizational impact.Salary SurveysCompletes published salary surveys within deadlines, using data obtained from Peoplesoft, the Pay Plan and other sources as needed. Performs job matches, calculates data responses and maintains appropriate security and confidentiality of data. Reviews and analyzes survey data and develops reports and presentations as requested.ComplianceReviews salary data to ensure standards and policies are met. Interprets federal and state acts, statues and regulations on wage and salary issues, and recommends policy, procedure and structural changes as appropriate.EducationRequired: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.ExperienceRequired: No experience required.
