Job description
The Data Governance Analyst is part of the The Central Data Office which has a mission of developing enterprise data sets in support of the corporation’s strategy to treat data as an asset.Responsibilities:- Work with Enterprise Data Governance leads and data stewards to build/implement Enterprise Data Governance Framework,
- DG Analyst will work closely with IT and business stakeholders to onboard data domains, critical data assets and establish relevant processes, following EM Data Governance Playbook and other best practices
- Supporting Data Governance Office with building/scribing Data Policies, Data Standards, Business Rules, documenting them in a central repository (Collibra)
- Support building an Enterprise Data Governance Portal in Collibra
- Help establish EM standard DG practices and enhance data-driven business performance and compliance
- Development and deploy management process associated with Data Governance Metrics in the central repository
- Support data stewards through education and facilitation of data issue resolution
- Participate in the data related projects (software/application development lifecycle) by providing DG related requirements as well as problem solving during development
- 1-3 years of experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, Business Intelligence and Data Analysis
- 1-3 years of experience capturing and documenting complex and functional requirements
- Exposure to Data Governance tools (such as Collibra)
- Ability to identify problems/opportunities, analyze root cause and present
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as communicating technical issues to non-technical audiences
- Experience with data lineage, data cataloging, and/or data policy implementation
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Knowledge and understanding of data governance challenges and best practices for metadata, data quality and data stewardship
- Working knowledge of Big Data, Data Lakes and Snowflake ecosystem
- Experience with data profiling or defining data quality rules
- Experience writing/editing internal communications or training-related materials in a corporate environment
