Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Assistant Controller in Southlake, Texas. In this role, you will be managing and overseeing various aspects of general ledger accounting within our team. The successful candidate will be expected to possess advanced skills in Excel and Sage to streamline and automate financial processes.Responsibilities: Overseeing and managing general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes. Assisting with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit. Assessing current practices and procedures, and making recommendations for improvements. Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness. Performing ad hoc analysis and projects as requested. Supervising and/or managing general ledger accounting functions. Working with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end. Employing advanced proficiency with Excel and Sage to create and maintain financial models, automate data analyses and implement process improvements. Collaborating with the financial team to ensure effective financial management and reporting. Streamlining and automating financial processes using Microsoft Excel, Sage 100, and other tools. Implementing process improvements and process automation for efficient functioning. Managing month end close procedures and account reconciliation. Preparing and posting journal entries in compliance with US GAAP. Utilizing Concur for expense management and reporting. Requirements Must hold a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role or relevant field. Proficiency in using Concur for expense management. Experience in Month End Close processes. Thorough understanding and practical knowledge of US GAAP. Demonstrated skills in Account Reconciliation and Journal Entries. Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis. Familiarity with Sage 100 software will be a plus. Proven record of implementing Process Improvement and Process Automation in previous roles. Experience in handling Annual External Audits. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well in a team as well as independently. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred.
